Our BELIEFS

01 Jesus

We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God and the long-awaited Messiah. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and rose from the dead, conquering sin and death. Through faith in Jesus, we receive forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life.

02 The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is infallible and authoritative, revealing God's character, His plan of salvation, and providing guidance for all aspects of life. We value the study, teaching, and application of Scripture as the primary means of understanding God's will and growing in faith.

03 Salvation

We believe that salvation is a free gift of God's grace and is received through faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace alone, not by our own efforts or good works. Through repentance of sin and trusting in Jesus' sacrificial death and resurrection, we are justified before God and enter into a personal relationship with Him. This salvation brings about a transformation of heart and life, empowering us to live for Christ and pursue righteousness.

04 Heaven & Hell

We believe in the reality of both heaven and hell. Heaven is the eternal dwelling place of those who have accepted God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is a place of perfect fellowship with God, where there is no more sorrow, pain, or death. Hell, on the other hand, is a place of eternal separation from God for those who have rejected His grace and chosen to live apart from Him. It is a place of just judgment and conscious punishment.

05 The Holy Spirit

We believe in the personhood and work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who indwells believers upon their acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior. The Holy Spirit empowers and equips believers with spiritual gifts, enabling them to live a transformed and fruitful life. The Holy Spirit guides, convicts, comforts, and illuminates the truth of Scripture. We seek to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in our individual lives and in the life of the church.

06 The Church

We believe that the Church is the universal and local expression of the body of Christ. The Church is made up of all believers who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. We gather together for worship, fellowship, teaching, and mutual encouragement. As the body of Christ, we are called to fulfill the Great Commission, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey Jesus' commands. We strive to be a community of love, unity, and service, reflecting Christ's love to the world.

07 LGBTQ+

At Cove Church, we are committed to embracing a spirit of acceptance and inclusivity. We believe that every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with love, dignity, and respect. We seek to create a safe and welcoming environment where individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can fully participate in the life of the church. We recognize the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and strive to foster understanding, empathy, and support within our community. We affirm that God's love extends to all and that everyone is invited to experience His grace, mercy, and transformation.
